GOLDEN JUBILEE VOLUMES

The Indian Sociological Society celebrated its golden jubilee in 2001.
 

The Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee had decided the following activities as part of the golden jubilee celebrations.

Golden Jubilee Volumes

The Indian Sociological Society has successfully completed its project on the Golden Jubilee Volumes.

In all seven volumes under the series titled ‘Themes in Indian Sociology’ have been published during 2003-2005. There has been an enthusiastic response from students, teachers and researchers who have found the volumes very useful.

We would like to thank the Editors and Academic Advisors for their cooperation in preparing the volumes. Our special thanks to Shri Tejeshwar Singh, Ms. Omita Goyal, Ms. Ritu Vajpeyi-Mohan and their colleagues at the Sage Publications for their willing cooperation and support in maintaining the time schedule and high quality of production.

50 Years of Sociological Bulletin (1952-2001) Index

A 150-page publication was brought out on the occasion containing the index of articles, book reviews and brief articles and comments published in the Sociological Bulletin during the 50 years of 1952-2001, with a brief write-up looking at the history of the Indian Sociological Society, by Prof. B. S. Baviskar, President, Indian Sociological Society.  The index was compiled by Krishnan Namboodiri.

Members’ Directory

For the first time, the Indian Sociological Society brought out a Directory of its life members as part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
