The ISS Newsletter has entered the sixth year of its publication. It is gradually but rapidly gathering momentum in engaging the pivotal issues in sociological discourse world wide and specifically in the Indian context. The rising demand for the ISS Newsletter among ISS members as well as academicians and scholars in the discipline of social sciences and humanities under scores the ever growing significance of ISS Newsletter. The contemporary sociological scenario in India has developed a strong bearing on the lives and cultures of people all over India and it attempts genuinely to sensitize the academic world about the seminality of radical approaches in sociological research and learning. ISSNewsletter as the illustrious voice of an organization which has established itself as a crucial academic presence in India has a catalytic effect role in crystallizing in conventional research strategies and innovative methods. ISSNewsletter has consistently been attempting to visualize these goals through a wide variety of activities such as strengthening and promoting links between Sociological Institutions and research Committees. It is a pleasant privilege to thank all the members for their kind co-operation and support.
