Research Committees

Since 1998 the Indian Sociological Society is following the Rsearch Committee (RC) system on the lines of International Sociological Association (ISA). There are 21 Research Committees as listed below with their convenor's name. Each RC is managed by the Convenor with the helping of an executive committee. A member of ISS can join upto three RCs. The membership fee is Rs.200 for two years or Rs.400 for five years.

Each RC meets during the All India Sociological Conference normally held once in a year. Members present and discuss their papers. Some RCs hold additional meetings/seminars/workshops in between two All India conferences. Some of them bring out their own Newsletters.
